Ask on WhatsAppThe control cabinet module, or brain, of the ABB ASTAT crane motion controller. Houses the DAPC 100 control board and DAPU 100 input/output board, and decides the torque and speed sent to the thyristor module.
Legacy product line, discontinued by the manufacturer. Supplied as a sourced spare on request. ABB's stated modern equivalent is the ACS880 drive with the Crane Control program (option +N5050).
The DARA control system module is the control centre of the ABB ASTAT crane motion controller.
It reads the operator's master switch, speed and torque feedback, and motor protection signals, then tells the DASD thyristor module how much stator voltage to apply. Inside each DARA are a DAPC 100 control board and a DAPU 100 input/output communication board, plus rotor and torque observer boards on the feedback models.
Variants differ mainly in how speed is measured: DARA 1000 needs a tachometer or pulse encoder, while DARA 1001 and DARA 1010 measure rotor frequency from the motor slip rings, so no separate speed sensor is needed. DARA 2000 is the hoist supervision variant, used with a separate safety relay module.
