The DADT 100 measures rotor frequency straight from the motor slip rings, which lets the ABB ASTAT system run closed-loop speed control without a tachometer or pulse encoder on the motor shaft.
It also provides rotor monitoring. The DADT 114 and DADT 124 are a matched modem pair that converts the ASTAT RS232 service port to an RS485 multi-drop link, so a single service PC can reach up to 254 units on one crane or in one bay.
