About this product
The DASD thyristor module is the power section of the ABB ASTAT crane motion controller system.
It supplies the stator of a three-phase slip-ring (wound rotor) crane motor and controls motor torque by phase-angle control using pairs of thyristors. Because direction is changed electronically through the thyristor pairs, no reversing contactors are needed. Each module carries a DATX 100 pulse transformer board internally, and all control signals reach the module over hard-clad-silica (HCS) fibre-optic links, which keeps the control electronics isolated from the power circuit.
Modules are built for hot, dusty crane environments and run continuously up to +85 degrees Celsius with current derating above the reference temperature.
